When to submit this form
This form is appropriate for current Gigi’s Behavior Services clients experiencing an urgent behavioral change or escalation, including:
- Biting or attacking a household member or pet resulting in significant injury
- Showing aggression toward children living in the home
- Engaging in pet-to-pet aggression that you cannot safely interrupt or manage
- Causing serious self-injury (e.g., self-biting, tail chasing with trauma, breaking out of crates and injuring themselves)
- Demonstrating increased aggression after starting a new behavioral medication
- Experiencing a concerning medication side effect that does not require immediate emergency intervention
If you are unsure whether your situation requires emergency veterinary care, err on the side of caution and seek in-person medical support first.
Do not use this form for medical emergencies. Seek immediate in-person veterinary care, and do not wait for a response from our team, if your pet is experiencing:
- Collapse
- Seizures
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Severe vomiting or diarrhea
- Signs of medication toxicity
- Extreme agitation or disorientation
- Difficulty breathing
- Any life-threatening condition
How triage works
Our team reviews emergency submissions during business hours Monday–Friday | 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. We prioritize concerns based on clinical urgency.
- If your submission appears urgent, we will make reasonable efforts to respond as soon as possible during business hours. Non-urgent concerns may receive a response within several business days.
- Submission of this form does not guarantee immediate contact or intervention.
- If your situation involves active aggression, immediate safety risk, or conditions you cannot safely manage, contact your primary care veterinarian or a local emergency veterinary hospital.
Please ensure:
- All people and pets are physically separated and safe.
- You are not actively in a dangerous situation.
- You understand this is a triage communication tool — not emergency response.
